It has been illegal to set off aerial fireworks in Coeur D’Alene for quite some time. Aerial fireworks include anything that flies such as bottle rockets, rockets, mortars and roman candles. People still obtain them and set them off though. While in many cases these events are a “blast” shared by friends and families, there are times when things go wrong. Less than a year ago, the 2,500 acre Table Rock fire was started by a roman candle. But, fireworks do not have to be illegal to cause injuries; sparklers can cause them too.
Injuries from fireworks in Idaho
Around the Fourth of July, over 10,000 people will be sent to the Emergency Room with injuries. Some injuries include minor abrasions, and others include very serious third degree burns. Explosions will take off fingers. Over half of the injured will be people under the age of 20. Some injuries will be very serious and even result in death.
