One of the biggest challenges for older drivers in Spokane Valley isn’t their limitations, but how the people around them respond. No matter how careful you are, you can’t really account for what other drivers do. And sometimes, they respond aggressively. That’s what happened in a recent accident in Spokane Valley, according to a story from KHQ.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) deputies say a 79-year-old woman was injured and taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center after being involved in a collision with another car and a motorcycle on June 17, 2026. WSP says that the accident happened at the intersection of State Route 27 and 24th Avenue.
Both the woman and a 27-year-old man were headed south on SR 27 when they became involved in a road rage incident. As the woman headed toward the intersection of 24th Avenue, she collided with another man who was crossing on 24th Avenue at the time. The 27-year-old man was on a motorcycle, but fled the scene. The man who was crossing 24th Avenue was uninjured. WSP later found and charged the 27-year-old man with felony hit-and-run and vehicular assault.

Information That Can Help You in a Road Rage Accident
Nobody wants to be in a situation where another driver is being aggressive to the point of road rage. It’s incredibly scary, but it goes to a different level when it ends up in an accident. At that point, it becomes important to try to stay calm, get to safety, and get as much information as you can without confronting the other driver. Try to focus on:
- Documenting the make, model, color, and any other identifying details about the other car.
- What you can remember about the driver (age, gender, clothing, hair color, etc.)
- The direction the vehicle traveled after the crash
- The exact time and location of the collision, including nearby intersections, businesses, mile markers, or landmarks
- Details about the driver’s aggressive behavior
- Pictures/videos of your car damage, any visible injuries, weather conditions, signage, traffic, and anything else that shows the aftermath of the collision
- Camera footage or information from nearby businesses, traffic cams, or dashcams
Most importantly, never chase or follow a driver who leaves the scene. Instead, call 911 right away and share every detail you can remember with dispatchers. Even information that seems minor—like part of a license plate number, the vehicle’s direction of travel, or a unique feature on the car—can help police find the driver later.
From your perspective, though, this information—even partial—gives you the building blocks of an injury claim. And that’s where our Spokane car accident lawyers at Crary, Clark, and Domanico can help you.
