According to an article on MassTransitMag.com, on November 16, 2016, 3 people were transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center after a Spokane Transit Authority (STA) vehicle allegedly pulled out in front of a Ford SUV traveling on Division Street. Among the injured were the STA Paratransit vehicle’s passenger and people in the SUV. According to the article, the Ford SUV was totaled in the North Spokane collision.

STA’s Paratransit is a wheelchair-accessible transportation service. Most people using the STA Paratransit have a disability which prevents them from using STA’s fixed bus routes.

Lawsuits and injury claims against STA

A government entity in the State of Washington can be held liable for ordinary negligence. This is a very unique situation and allows the injured to be fairly compensated for their injuries.

Personal injury litigation with a government entity is complex and is best done by a local, experienced attorney.
