Highway Accidents In Hartline Washington

December 23, 2020

Highway travel can be extremely dangerous along sections where smaller roads intersect. Drivers looking to enter a highway can misjudge the distance of other vehicles and pull out at dangerous moments, putting an unsuspecting driver at risk of a devastating accident.

The Washington Department of Transportation documents the dangers seen on state routes every year. In 2019, they found that highways were the scene of almost 50,000 accidents across the state. Included with that shockingly high number are a tragic 261 fatalities and over 700 serious injuries.

The Washington State Patrol found that A Dodge Pick-Up driven by a 36-year-old Coulee Dam woman failed to stop for a stop sign and pulled out onto the highway. Her truck collided with a Ford F-150 driven by a 63-year-old man from Coulee City.

The man was airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. The woman was taken to Grand Coulee Medical Center. She is charged with failure to yield at a stop sign.

Support for Grant County Accident Victims and their Families

Careless drivers can make errors in judgment that not only leave victims with life-threatening injuries but can serve to overwhelm a family with worry. The victims and close relatives can soon face the high costs of emergency transportation and hospital care without any assurance from the at-fault driver’s insurance company that financial help is on the way.

Under these difficult circumstances, victims or their family members can proceed with a claim for damages against the insurance company involved. This civil claim can make it clear that compensation is expected for every cost of recovery now and for any care needed in the weeks and months to come.

A spouse or children of the victim should not have to face the expenses and emotional trauma alone after an accident they weren’t to blame for. An attorney working on behalf of the victim can make sure compensation is requested for every hardship the victim and his or her family has experienced. An attorney can also investigate the accident and make sure an insurance company can’t try to shift blame to escape having to help victims.
