Teenagers and Others Injured in DUI Crash on I-90 in Spokane

November 3, 2016

According to an article on KREM, Washington State Patrol responded to a collision early Sunday, October 30, 2016. The article states that “WSP officials said drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Charges of DUI, obstruction and no valid operator license are expected to be filed.”

Allegedly, a 19yr old was driving a vehicle, and during a lane change while heading west on I-90 near Division his vehicle struck another vehicle. In total, 7 people were injured and transported to Sacred Heart.

While we are not certain of the extent of the injuries, thankfully there were no fatalities. Hopefully everyone involved recovers as quickly as possible.

Who pays for the medical bills?

In accidents like this, we are almost always asked who pays for the medical bills. In many cases, insurance companies will attempt to wiggle out of paying any type of compensation to the injured. Sometimes they will point to people not wearing a seatbelt or not having a license. In many cases, they are still liable for injuries sustained in car accidents like the one above.
