KXLY reported on a terrible accident which left a Rathdrum woman dead. According to the article the woman was trying to avoid a street sweeper that had moved into her lane. While trying to avoid a collision her Chevy Tracker hit a concrete barrier. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her passenger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Fault and compensation

In cases like this the injured passenger and also the loved ones of the deceased are very likely to be able to collect compensation. For example, if the street sweeper was at fault or even partially at fault, the driver, company he or she works for, and/or the insurer may be held liable.

While no amount of money can bring back a loved one, insurance companies may decide to play games during this tragic time; they often try to place blame on the victims in one way or another.

Family members of the deceased may seek compensation for funeral and burial expenses, pain and suffering, the loss of companionship that the loved one would have been provided, and more.

Passengers injured in accidents like this can often obtain drastically more compensation for their injuries than they would without an attorney.
