Driver Charged With Vehicular Homicide After Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Spokane Valley

November 17, 2025

If you think about all the different places where you see traffic in Spokane Valley, it’s easy to see how so many accidents happen. But not every accident is the same, and some–like those involving pedestrians–are much heavier. One recent accident laid out in a story from KXLY lays this out plainly.

On Friday, November 14, 2025, a woman was killed after she was struck by a car driven by a 29-year-old man at the intersection of East Broadway and North Sullivan Road around 6:20 p.m. Once Spokane Valley Sheriff’s deputies and EMTs arrived on the scene, they attempted CPR, but the woman died of her injuries there.

From there, deputies arrested the driver under suspicion of being impaired. The man’s two children were in the car at the time, and were uninjured. The man was later charged with vehicular homicide along with reckless endangerment. He was booked into Spokane County Jail.

Investigators with the SCSO are asking nearby businesses or witnesses to come forward with any information relating to the collision, especially video footage.

What Evidence Can Help My Claim If I’m Hurt as a Pedestrian?

One of the biggest issues that come from being struck by a driver that’s impaired is that it’s hard to get important information from them–either because they’re unable to or because they flee the scene altogether. This can leave you feeling powerless, but there’s actually a lot of evidence that you can get in this situation:

  • Pictures/videos. Take pictures of your injuries, the car, and the scene around you. Include things like crosswalks, traffic signals, skid marks, or anything that helps show exactly what happened. Even small details, like broken glass or uneven pavement, can help later.
  • Information about the driver. If it’s safe, get the driver’s name, license plate, and insurance info. If you can’t, write down what you notice about the car—make, model, color—so there’s a record.
  • Witness statements. If anyone saw the accident, ask for their names and contact info. Even a short statement from someone who saw what happened can make a big difference.
  • Police report. Make sure the police take a full report at the scene and ask how you can get a copy. The report includes key details, like the officer’s observations, witness statements, and whether the driver was suspected of being impaired.
  • Medical records. Save all your medical bills, receipts for prescriptions, therapy sessions—anything connected to the accident. Even a simple journal about how your injuries affect your daily life can be useful.

Obviously, it’s very difficult–if not impossible–to get this information right after the accident. Anytime you get hit by a driver, injuries and damage isn’t far behind. That’s when you can turn to our Spokane pedestrian accident lawyers at Crary, Clark, and Domanico for support.
