It’s a frightening sight to see an oncoming vehicle veering into your lane and heading straight for you. The head-on collision is one of the most devastating hazards for drivers. The speeds of both vehicles can double the force of an impact and have disastrous effects.
The Idaho Transportation Department’s accident reports show the deadly consequences of head-on collisions each year. They find that head-on crashes are responsible for the most fatalities in multi-vehicle accidents. These incidents accounted for almost a quarter of the deaths in multiple-vehicle collisions in 2017.

Help for Head-On Accident Victims in Idaho
The blunt force trauma of a head-on collision can leave victims with severe injuries. The recovery can take months or even years and there are times when a victim must deal with the consequences over a lifetime.
Victims will face the costs of hospital care and the prospect of being out of work for quite a while. Extensive rehabilitation may be necessary in the years to come. Expensive medical equipment and training can also be needed in extreme cases. A serious injury could lead to disability and may even force a victim to retrain for a new career.
All of these outcomes are possible in the aftermath of a head-on collision and that’s why it’s important to make sure the driver to blame for the crash is not let off the hook. Filing a claim for damages can make sure the driver and his or her insurance company are front and center when it comes time to cover your hardships and expenses now and any that accumulate in the future. They should be providing enough compensation to take care of your entire recovery.
