Dangerous DUI Accidents on Hwy 2 in Spokane County

November 2, 2022

Travel on State Route 2 through Colbert and Chattaroy can get busy in the evenings. Usually, drivers can trust that motorists traveling in the opposite direction will stay in their lanes and remain safely removed from oncoming cars.

Unfortunately, a driver who is impaired by drugs or alcohol can’t be trusted to remain out of harm’s way. That driver can end up in the path of approaching vehicles and cause a serious collision. Victims can suffer what seem to be minor injuries in an accident and then find the next day they experience pain from an internal injury they didn’t realize they had.

Support for Car Accident Victims After a Spokane County Collision

The shock of being in a violent collision can mask the injuries that victims receive. They may not feel the pain of a hairline fracture until waking up the next morning. A broken bone or a traumatic brain injury may only be spotted in a doctor’s office or with X-rays. It’s critical for all accident victims to get themselves examined by their own doctors before shrugging off unexpected pain that appears.

Accident victims may face long, expensive injury recoveries and they should be able to seek damages from at-fault drivers and their auto insurance providers. Compensation should be available to pay for every hospital bill and physical therapy appointment. The lost time at work a victim experiences while trying to heal must also be replaced.

In a collision caused by a DUI driver, victims don’t have to delay in filing a civil car accident injury claim. The driver will likely face a criminal trial, but victims can file an insurance claim no matter where criminal proceedings stand. This allows victims and their families to secure money to help in recovery as soon as possible.
