Accidents On U.S. 95 In Kootenai County ID

Deadly Two-Vehicle Collision on U.S. 95 in Kootenai County

One person was tragically killed and two people were hurt in a car accident near Athol, Idaho Tuesday afternoon. The Coeur d’Alene/Post Falls Press reported the accident took place around 3 p.m. along U.S. 95 on April 13, 2021.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department says that a vehicle crossed the center median near milepost 449 and struck another vehicle. One occupant in those vehicles was pronounced dead on the scene. Two victims were taken to Kootenai Health with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have not released the cause of the crash.
