A two-car accident in Post Falls seriously injured two people on June 1, 2018.
According to the Coeur d’Alene Press, this accident happened a little after 1:00PM at the intersection of Ross Point Road and Maplewood Avenue. The two cars involved in this crash were a 1999 Chevy Tahoe and a 2018 Cadillac CT6.
Allegedly the driver of the Tahoe was speeding west on Maplewood when he struck the Cadillac’s passenger side. At the time of the crash, the Cadillac was headed north on Ross Point.
Allegedly, the Tahoe driver stole his vehicle in a Coeur d’Alene parking lot. Police caught up with the stolen vehicle near Ross Point where the Tahoe driver led them on a chase towards the intersection with Maplewood.
In addition to the two drivers, there was one passenger in the Cadillac. After safety crews pulled the driver and passenger out of the Cadillac, they immediately transported them to a local hospital with serious injuries. The Tahoe driver, however, did not need hospitalization.
Police are still investigating the cause of this crash, but they believe DUI might have played a factor.
