Motorcyclists enjoy riding in the fresh air, but when careless drivers don’t pay enough attention to spot riders nearby that lack of protection can prove very dangerous.
In the last week of April 2021, FOX28-TV found that the Washington State Patrol responded to 4 motorcycle accidents across the state in a 36 hour period. One of those accidents occurred in Spokane Valley. Fortunately, emergency crews believed all of the victims involved would recover. But the week before, another motorcyclist involved in a crash just outside of Airway Heights was killed.
Troopers say that drivers must show more caution as the weather warms up and more people get out on the road on their bikes. That extra caution could prevent countless injuries and also prevent the loss of lives.

Support for Families After a Motorcycle Accident in Spokane
Motorcyclists must account for careless drivers on every ride, but sometimes they are forced into an unavoidable accident. A lack of attention from drivers and a swerve into a rider’s lane or a turn in front of a motorcycle they didn’t see coming can have devastating consequences.
After a motorcycle accident claims a life, the family left behind also become victims. Their emotional pain will be difficult to recover from. They could also have to face the expenses that often follow a tragedy. Funeral and burial costs and emergency responder fees can run into the thousands of dollars. These bills can arrive just as close family members must go without the financial support the victim provided through his or her job.
Under these heartbreaking circumstances, families are permitted to file a wrongful death lawsuit to request support from the responsible driver’s car insurance company. A spouse, domestic partner, children of the victim, and sometimes the parents of the victim can file this civil claim on behalf of the entire family.
Families must be cautious when dealing with an insurance company. Despite the tragic circumstances, insurance agents can still put their profits ahead of the needs of a grieving family. A wrongful death claim can document every hardship experienced by the family and make sure the family’s rights are respected.
