DUI Accidents in Airway Heights

November 30, 2020

Safe and cautious drivers can avoid a lot of trouble on the roads, but a driver impaired by drugs or alcohol can present a dangerous obstacle. DUI motorists can move in an unpredictable manner, making it hard for other drivers to steer clear of them.

Washington residents deal with the tragic effects of DUI accidents every year. In 2017, 135 lives were lost statewide in accidents involving a drunk driver. 200 lives were lost in accidents involving a drug positive driver and 126 lives were lost in accidents involving THC positive drivers.

The terrible choice to consume alcohol or ingest a drug and then get behind the wheel takes a devastating toll on families all across Washington.

Support for Airway Heights Accident Victims

DUI drivers are a threat no matter when you travel. They can put themselves in harm’s way and their bad decisions can target drivers and families in any other vehicle on the road. An innocent victim can suddenly be facing a long, difficult recovery and have to find a way to pay expensive hospital and rehabilitation bills.

You or a family member might be an injured victim facing the costs of recovery alone after an accident that wasn’t your fault. You might be losing wages at work while you miss time over your injuries. In these tragic circumstances, you are allowed to file a claim for damages against the DUI driver and his or her insurance company. This claim can help ensure you have money to pay for medical care now and for care needed in the future. You can also be reimbursed for your missing paychecks. Even the emotional toll you and your family have been put through can earn compensation.

In Washington, victims have up to three years to file this civil lawsuit and demand compensation from an insurance company. You may be allowed years to file, but it’s always beneficial to file as soon as you’re ready. When you wait, it becomes harder and harder to collect evidence and important documents needed to prove your case. An attorney working on your side can help you get ready and make sure you get the compensation you need to get back to normal life as soon as possible.
