An alleged distracted driver caused a major accident just outside of Colfax Washington.
The accident occurred in a construction zone where traffic was stopped on Highway 195. A flagger was in a “cone zone” and stopping traffic. A van was stopped, and even though she was carrying a stop sign a truck approaching allegedly never slowed down. The flagger ran for her life and narrowly escaped death as the truck plowed into the van. In total, 3 cars were involved in the crash.
Unfortunately, distracted driving accidents have been on the rise. Technology has made vehicles safer and safer with better crumple zones and airbags, however it has also brought high speed internet to cell phones where people are getting a barrage of notifications from Facebook and their text messaging apps.
Distracted driving is a form of negligence and one we here about here all the time.
